In this interior design project for an apartment in Rovinj, the focus was on creating a refined, contemporary space with clear references to classic elegance. The concept was developed for a young couple who appreciate timeless design while also expecting functionality and visual clarity suited to everyday living. The foundation of the design is a calm, warm palette of neutral tones—beige, grey, and natural wood shades—which give the space a sense of comfort, continuity, and sophistication. Materials were selected with an emphasis on texture and tactility: structured wall finishes, wooden surfaces with vertical slats, stone and terrazzo surfaces, and soft textile finishes. A special role is played by ribbed glass, which introduces rhythm and a refined play of light, subtly connecting classical elements with a modern design expression.

The living area was conceived as a representative yet intimate focal point of the apartment. Integrated elements such as built-in shelving, concealed LED lighting, and a fireplace contribute to a sense of warmth and a pleasant atmosphere, while rounded furniture forms, subtle metal accents, and restrained décor further emphasize the balance between classical and contemporary lines. Lighting plays an important role in creating different ambiences throughout the day and evening.

The kitchen, although spatially separated, is design-wise aligned with the rest of the interior, with a slightly more pronounced contemporary character that highlights its functional role. Minimalist cabinetry fronts, darker tones, and stone cladding give it a clean and elegant appearance, while a carefully planned layout ensures practicality and clarity of use.

The private zones of the apartment are conceived as calm retreats, with an emphasis on comfort and balance. The bedrooms are characterized by composed arrangements, soft textures, and accentuated headboards, complemented by discreet lighting and unobtrusive décor. The children’s room follows the same design language, but with warmer and subtly more playful tones adapted to a younger user.

The bathroom follows a philosophy of restrained elegance, with a gently emphasized contemporary expression. The combination of stone surfaces, clean lines, and integrated niches results in a space that feels calm, orderly, and refined.

The entire project is based on the idea of a timeless interior—a space that does not yield to passing trends, but instead, through quality materials, precise detailing, and a balanced relationship between classical and modern elements, creates lasting value and a pleasant framework for everyday life.
