House in Bokordići
Svetvinčenat
The detailed interior and exterior design project of the stone house in Bokordići is one of the projects that holds a prominent place in our portfolio. It is a complex undertaking that required a high level of conceptual thinking, precision, and respect for the existing architecture, as well as clearly defined contemporary spatial decisions.
From the beginning, we approached the house as a unified spatial narrative in which the interior and exterior complement each other, and the old and the new enter into a balanced dialogue. Our goal was not to modernize the historic stone structure, but to reveal and emphasize its full spatial potential — the volumes, heights, and atmosphere hidden within the existing framework.
By opening the space vertically, removing parts of the intermediate floor structures, and creating galleries and mezzanines, the house gained a new spatial dynamic. The ground floor was shaped as a strong central hub of daily life, while the upper floors and mezzanine gradually transition into more intimate zones. Each room has its own character, yet the entire house remains consistent in a calm and cohesive design language.
Materials and details were carefully selected and used with restraint. Natural stone, wood, metal, and ceramics form the foundation of the space, while contemporary elements — glass, metal railings, and lighting — discreetly accentuate the architecture. Luxury here arises from balance, proportions, and spatial clarity rather than decoration.
The project also includes an auxiliary building designed as a studio apartment, functioning as an independent yet aesthetically connected unit. The exterior was developed as an equal part of the project — from the cistern and winter garden to the outdoor lounge areas and Mediterranean landscape — creating an environment suitable for everyday living as well as special occasions.
This project represents a synthesis of the values we continuously cultivate as a studio: respect for context, clear spatial logic, and a high level of executional refinement.

What is luxury?
Luxury is when everything feels flawless, when I achieve the perfect balance between all elements. Subtle theatricality — that is what luxury means to me.

“For me, design is art — it is not just a craft.”
“Details are not just details; they make the design.”

“What is quality? Quality design must have authenticity. My work is not perfection — nor should it be — but sometimes the middle of the road is the most dangerous place to be.”
